A trip on mountain skis in Ullådalen is the perfect activity for a day in the mountains. Pack lunch or why not Swedish fika with coffee and cinnamon buns and go on a ski tour. Here you get to experience the mountains for real. When you get hungry, you look for the coziest place for a break. Or turn past Lillåstugan for a freshly baked waffle. If you start from Edsåsdalen, you can ski up on Renfjället, the mountain on the other side of Åresjön. There is also a really good waffle cottage there. It's called Vita renen, the White Reindeer. If you want a slightly bigger challenge, you can ski around Åreskutan. The ski bus goes to both Ullådalen and Björnen so no car is needed.
